If you don’t know yourself, you won’t know how to market yourself!

Knowing who you are is an integral part of knowing how to position yourself and your work in today’s market. Just because a strategy has worked for other people does not necessarily mean it will work for YOU.

If you’re feeling a little bit lost, here are a few of my favorite tools to help you get to know yourself a little better.

– Myers-Briggs Type Indicator: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
– Love Languages Test: http://www.5lovelanguages.com/profile/
– VIA Survey of Character Strengths: https://www.authentichappiness.sas.upenn.edu/testcenter

So here’s your task for today: take (at least) one of them, and share your results with me in the comments.

  1. My Results

#MBTI: I’m an INFP. “INFPs are sensitive, caring, and compassionate, and are deeply concerned with the personal growth of themselves and others. Individualistic and nonjudgmental, INFPs believe that each person must find their own path. They enjoy spending time exploring their own ideas and values, and are gently encouraging to others to do the same. INFPs are creative and often artistic; they enjoy finding new outlets for self-expression.” Yup, that’s me.

My top two love languages (or the ways I receive love best) are quality time and acts of service. Also food, but you won’t find that one on the official Love Languages site.

Character Strengths: Appreciation of beauty and excellence, Curiosity and interest in the world, Gratitude, and Spirituality, sense of purpose, and faith.
